Biography
Gilbert Lebrun is professor in the department of mechanical engineering at the University of Québec at Trois-Rivieres (UQTR), Québec, Canada. He worked in research and development in the field of analysis, shaping, design and manufacturing of composite parts for Camoplast Inc. and Composites Atlantic Limited (EADS, Aerospace Division in Canada). From 1999 to 2003, he was a research agent at the Industrial Materials Institute of the National Research Council of Canada (IMI-NRC) in the field of shaping of continuous fiber thermoplastic composites. Since 2007, he has been actively working on the molding and characterization of natural fiber composites, in particular through the development of unidirectional flax fiber reinforcements obtained by paper manufacturing techniques. He is the author of numerous publications in the field of shaping and characterization of composite materials.
