It is with immense sadness that we learned of the passing of Professor Pierre J. Carreau.
A leading figure in our scientific community, Pierre Carreau profoundly influenced the development of polymer and composite research in Quebec, across Canada, and internationally. As the founder and first director of CREPEC, he made an exceptional contribution to the growth and success of our research center.
A world-renowned researcher and pioneer in polymer rheology, his work left a lasting mark on the field. His scientific legacy lives on through the well-known Carreau equation, which continues to be widely used around the world today.
Beyond his scientific achievements, Pierre Carreau was an outstanding mentor, deeply committed to teaching and to the training of future generations of researchers. His generosity, intellectual rigor, and passion for knowledge inspired, and continue to inspire, generations of scientists and engineers.
CREPEC extends its heartfelt condolences to his family, loved ones, friends, colleagues, and all those who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.
To honor his memory and legacy, a tribute will be paid to him at the next CREPEC Annual Colloquium.
