Carreau, Pierre J

Pierre J. Carreau is Emeritus Professor at Ecole Polytechnique, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He obtained his engineering degree from Ecole Polytechnique and his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin (Madison, USA). He is the past director of the Center for Applied Research on Polymers and Composites, CREPEC. He is highly involved in research on the rheology and processing of polymeric systems, topics of two books published by Carl Hanser Verlag and is the author of nearly 250 papers published in scientific journals. He has received numerous awards and distinctions, including two doctorates honoris causa from French universities in recognition for his contributions to science. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and of the Royal Society of Canada. He was the editor of the Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering from 1996 to 2006.
