Salma holds a bachelor's degree in industrial chemistry from the National Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology in Tunisia, a master's degree in chemistry and physico-chemistry of materials from Pierre and Marie Curie University - Paris 6 and a doctorate in chemistry from Sorbonne University . Her research work focused on the study and modeling of the electrochemical characteristics of the corrosion mechanisms of the nickel-based alloy, Inconel 690. She then worked within the nuclear industry on development and industrial qualification of polymer matrix composites for neutron shielding. She has expertise in surface characterization, physico-chemistry of materials and the study of aging mechanisms of polymer materials, as well as solid experience in R&D project management.
