Developing lightweight structures and architected materials, multi-material additive manufacturing, multi-scale mechanics of materials, and experimental characterization.
Dr. Xu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical, Industrial and Aerospace Engineering at Concordia University. He received his Ph.D. from McGill University and then worked at Siemens as a Mitacs Postdoctoral Fellow. Before joining Concordia, he developed 3D-printable Meta-materials at the Imperial College London. Dr. Xu’s research focus on developing lightweight structures and mechanical metamaterials, multi-material additive manufacturing, and multi-scale mechanics of materials.
